So, school's out. Comes the time for summer jobs, warm sunny days of nothing to do but nothing, and hanging out with friends. A time I enjoy very much. As most of you know, I'm going to Kenya this summer and our meetings for the trip are going to become more frequent. The only homework remaining is for non-school activities, and that makes it more interesting. In any event, I'm looking forward to progress on my book list, and monetary pool. Possibly my physique as well.

I haven't blogged in a few months. So, I might as well. Anyway, Oklahoma! went well. I grew attached to my hat. I'm sad to see it no longer mine. And because of Oklahoma, I now own my own make-up. I don't have a full stage makeup kit, but whatever. More as events progress. Theoretically.

Romeo and Juliet

So, yesterday was Valley View's field trip to the Children's Theater's production of Romeo and Juliet. I loved it. It was done in a 'promenade' style, which means that the audience was on the set with the actors, interacting with them. It was a modernized version, set more towards probably like the 50s or something. I did wake up yesterday morning knowing I was probably sick, and when I got back to school after the field trip, a large Caribou and some Chipotle, I was definetly sick. I skipped rehearsal and went home, and spent the day half-sleeping in my room. Fortunately, I was pretty much better by this morning, however, I took a sick day for my homework, plus I still felt a bit sick. Yay!

Grey Wolf!

I had my first staff development for the Grey Wolf NYLT course this weekend. Technically it was the second one, but I wasn't able to make it to the first one. I'm excited.

Grey Wolf is the Northern Star Council's National Youth Leadership Training course. It is one of the best training courses in the nation. Last year I was a participant and was invited to return as a staff member to help the course run smoothly this year.

My job is a Quartermaster. That means I get to "Exemplify servant leadership" as my ASPL-QM said. I help prep and make food, send it out to the patrols of participants and the staff, clean dishes, send out staff to eat with the patrols at mealtimes, make two presentations to the participants, rate participants' campsites, and fill in when necessary.

Memorial thingy

Went on a run today while Mom was at LifeTime. They have a path around the lake behind them. It passes a veterans memorial thing. It was really cool. There was a statue of a Armyman carrying an AirForce pilot, and then on the wall around it the insignias of the US Military's branches and their mottos carved into the ground.

I feel like that king who wrote "Nothing of significance happened today"

Aha! Found out where the quote is from. King George III on July 4, 1776, wrote in his diary "Nothing important happened today"

Woo.
